French Speaking Pupils

As well as having a clear motivation pupils must have left the Lower Secondary School with a sound grasp of the basics and be capable of working independently in an efficient and structured way. From the Seconde onwards it is possible give a clear profile to each pupil and their studies throughout the Lycée.

Pupils of a pure science bent are taught a great deal of practical science which destins them for the science stream culminating in the award of ’ Baccalauréat S (série Scientifique’).

Pupils interested in human sciences follow the Economics route but also get involved in journalism by writing and producing a magazine. They choose a Baccalauréat Sciences Economiques et Sociales (série ES) or an International Baccalaureate.

Pupils with an international or literary profile concentrate on preparing the full range of subjects for the IGCSECertificate and then the International Baccalaureate Bilingual Diploma.

For all pupils international language certificates (IGCSE, IB) are supplementary and complementary qualifications which can be studied for in any of the sections. German, Spanish and Japanese can be continued if already begun, Japanese can be started at beginner level.

On the languages side one doesn’t have to be perfectly bilingual. It would be preferable, however, if this is the case, to try to improve. The exchange proposed with Canada is particularly recommended in these circumstances.
