Centenary of the armistice – 2018

Since the month of October has begun, the whole school has been working towards the commemoration of the armistice centenary.

We asked for the help of families, and pupils actively contributed to reenact stories through reading of letters and books, while building a class museum.

Grandparents came to talk to the pupils, who were stunned by their stories.

To bring even more meaning to this work on memories, each level took part in a collective artistic piece: CP pupils (G1/Y2) created poppy flowers, CE1 pupils (G2/Y3) made cornflower garlands and CE2 pupils (G3/Y4) made poppy wreaths. The CM1 pupils (G4/Y5) sewed bedcovers and the CM2 pupils (G5/Y6) designed banners with the help of CP pupils.

November 09th was a very special day at Ombrosa. All dressed in red and blue, all the 512 pupils went to the parking lot at 11.00 a.m to observe a minute of silence, followed by songs and poems recited in unisson under the supervision of our music teacher.

The rest of the day, spent in peace, was punctuated by inter-classes presentations.

A memorable day under the sun that highlighted a real team work.
