On Monday, January 17, highschoolers got engaged in a waste collection in the Ombrosa park. This event was offered to students by IB 1st year students as part of their CAS project (Creativity, Action, Service) and supported by Mrs Saber, general supervisor of the Lycée.
The team of 16 volunteer students, in full protection gear, collected no less than 13.7 km of waste in just a half-hour Among others: wrappings, papers, wet clothes, pieces of pipes, but mostly masks picked-up on the parking lot area.
The aim of this collection was to bring awareness to the school community on environmental compliance, at school but also outside of it. This campaign had a positif and unifying impact on students that promptly join the team to help with the waste collection. Furthermore, since there were so many volunteers who could not take part in this initiative, another waste collection will be organized in March.
