PRoJECT://N – CryptioN

For 7 months, Léo and I, Thomas, students of International Classes, have designed four songs in the electronic musical genre for our CAS project. We presented our songs during the lunch break at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5th in one of the school’s classrooms to an audience of roughly 30 students from all classes in Junior and Senior year. Some teachers as well as the middle school and high school directors and our IB Coordinator also joined the audience for our showcase. All songs were played as MP3 files on a computer using speakers for audio output with Amethyst, an open-source music player by Geoxor.

* CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) is an important program component of the IB Diploma (International Baccalaureate) in which students must engage in personal initiative projects while conducting in-depth reflection on the development of their personal and interpersonal skills (communication, social, thinking, self-management and thinking skills). Examples include demonstrating perseverance, developing skills such as collaboration, problem solving and decision making. This experiential learning is also offered to all students, whether they are in the French or international section.
