Black History month in the UK – a subtle nudge from the Brits?

Did you know that October is Black History Month in the UK? Following in Canada’s footsteps, the United Kingdom has put into place the Black History Month magazine: “Standing Firm in Power and Pride” – a tribute to the strength, resilience and unmatched perseverance and commitment that defines the black community around the world. This year’s 2025 edition traces back profound contributions made by the Black population, who have shaped history and continue to inspire a future of pride through their unyielding resistance against discrimination and prejudice. The 2025 magazine marks key anniversaries, such as Malcom X’s assassination, and the 60 Year anniversary of the “Race Relations Act”. These historical milestones remind humanity about ongoing struggles and prejudice in the world, which many communities continue to face.
