On Fridays 21 and 28 November, all the CM2 classes went to the Maison des Canuts on the Croix-Rousse plateau as part of their work on reading Claudine de Lyon.
We took part in a guided tour of the Maison des Canuts, with a demonstration of weaving on a hand loom. The machine is very impressive and makes a lot of noise (bis-tan-clac-pan). We then discovered the cycle of the silkworm from its origins, just like in our poetry!
We continued with a guided tour of the traboules from the Croix Rousse to the Place des Terreaux, via the Cour des Voraces.
As we left, our guides gave our teachers cocoons for each of us! Will we manage to unwind the thread?
