Roman Day in CE1

On Tuesday 22nd June our CE1 pupils travelled back in time to the Roman era.Citizens, slaves, Emperors, gladiators and soldiers took part in various art activities
in the morning, producing Roman brooches, pouches of Roman denarii and clay door signs bearing the inscription “Nolite Inire”.
In the afternoon they took part in gladiator fights and chariot races before reclining on the grass to eat grapes and Roman delicacies. Slaves were enlisted to wash their guests’ hands and feet and to serve “red or white wine”.
